Beyond our online store and farm door, we frequently show up on markets in Mudgee and events in Sydney. Check our socials, homepage and Google for latest information.
Our stockists include restaurants, delis, small bottle shops and other retailers in Mudgee and growing across NSW.
Yes please!
Visitors are welcome Friday to Sunday and you can book your tasting experience here. We invite you to combine a tour + tasting for an immersive experience of what is happening at GG.
In short:
We are a working farm with our own animals, tempting neighbouring grazing paddocks and machinery under way. So to avoid trouble for your's and our animals we made the difficult decision to not allow pets when you stay in our accommodations.
Old Grattai Road is a gravel road that is absolutely fine to drive on with any normal car. Coming from Mudgee, you can take the scenic route by turning off Hill End Road shortly after you pass the 'Locality of Erudgere' sign and enjoy about 8 km on the dirt road. Or you continue along Hill End Road for 12 km and then turn left for another 2.5km on Old Grattai Road (look out for the 'Observatory' sign).
After heavy rain or when the road hasn't been graded in a while, it might become a bit washed out. If in doubt, give us a buzz to hear about the current status.
It is 15 mins to Mudgee town centre and traffic is never an issue around here. You can get to most Cellar Doors within 20-25 mins. Some wine tour operators will also pick you up for a fee from the accommodation if you want to leave your car behind. Some guests have hired a cab as shuttle and then explored the wineries via hired eBikes.
Taxis (02 6327 3999) and Ubers exist but not in abundance. On busy weekends, we recommend to book one of the private operators in advance.
We might also be able to give you a lift, talk to us when you plan your stay.
Yes, but please be aware that all dams are freely accessible and not fenced in. You will be greeted and visited by our dogs, Leo and Hunter who are very friendly so be prepared for a lick attempt and a pat request from either of them. Also be snake aware during summer and of course - slip, slap, slop.
Kids are absolutely welcome in the Hillside Retreat, one of the reasons why we furnished one of the bedrooms with King Singles. We also have some board games available and they can help to feed the animals and check for eggs from the hens. Please bring your own cot for your tiny ones; there is one high chair available if required.
Please note that Elm's Den is for adults only.
You sure can. We actually think it tastes better than town water and many of our guests have confirmed that.
Well, it would be nice if you could keep it a bit shorter during your stay. We purely rely on rain water and it is a precious resource on a farm, especially during a drought. The other reason is that the waste water is managed through septic tank systems which work better with less water coming through.
