Sunset over a lush vineyard with rolling hills in the background.

Welcome to Serenity

At our secluded farm just outside Mudgee you find a boutique winery and a sprawling olive grove with two thousand olive trees.

Add some sheep, cows, donkeys, goats, chooks, cats and dogs and finally two lovingly furnished accommodations to get a wholesome country experience where guests and visitors leave rejuvenated.

What's on offer?

Come for a visit

Enjoy a wine and olive oil tasting hosted by the owners, explore the vineyard and olive grove and meet the farm animals during a guided farm tour or immerse yourself in a little country time-out and stay at one of our accommodations right here at the farm.

We love to show visitors around and tell them more about our experience of farming, our philosophy and business journey and proudly share our produce.

Your experience will be simple and authentic, with tastings done in a rustic set-up at the utility shed, overlooking the vineyard and olive grove.

You are welcome to bring your furry friends on a leash. Children can be brought along without leashes but should be supervised when visiting our farm animals or exploring the grounds :-)

Olive Grove

Our vineyard is one of the highest in the region with over 40 year old Cabernet Sauvignon vines at its core. We planted Shiraz, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Sangiovese to broaden our HILLSIDE Range of small-batch estate grown wines.

In addition, we selectively source grapes from top growers in the region for our GRATTAI GROVE range of single estate wines.

Olive Grove

The Olive Grove was established in 1996 and we now enjoy the fruit of about 2,000 mature trees.

The majority are classic Tuscan varieties of Frantoio & Correggiola; with some Manzanillo, Verdale and Piqualle sprinkled in.

Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil can be tasted and bought at the farm and is available through a growing number of stockists and online.

Our FARM Animals

Leo

Hunter

Hunter

Leo, our German Shorthaired Pointer and our first farm dog, is convinced everybody comes to see him and he can help with everything. He is very affectionate and loves to play with endless energy.

Hunter

Hunter

Hunter

Hunter, our Rhodesian Ridgeback, is 4 weeks younger than Leo and about 15 kilos heavier. His bark is impressive but he is a gentle and shy giant when you come closer.

Tom

Lennie

Donkey looking over other donkey's back

Tom lost his original buddy Jerry but has found new friend with Lennie. He is quite friendly and loves a good cheek or bum rub.

Lennie

Piper and Phoebe

Lennie

Lennie, is the older Miniature Donkey and sometimes can be pretty feisty when playing with Tom. He is a bit on the shy side when it comes to people but bring him some carrots and he will be your friend!

Piper and Phoebe

Piper and Phoebe

Piper and Phoebe

Our two barn cats moved in with the donkeys to protect their fresh food from our rodent friends who fiercely chewed through plastic and timber. No more so as the cats are doing what cats are supposed to do...

Mooey and Specks

Piper and Phoebe

Piper and Phoebe

These Friesian / Speckle Parks cross breeds have been raised with close human contact and will come to the fence for a pat but more importantly for them, some treats!

Dewey and Louie

Dewey and Louie

Dewey and Louie

Our two boer goats happily share a large paddock with the two pet cows. They need to be quick to get their treats before the cows - so reward them first when they come running to the gate.

The Sheep

Dewey and Louie

Dewey and Louie

We have a small Aussie Whites flock of about a dozen ewes who are joined by their new lambs once a year after we had our neighbour's ram over for a bit of company. Come to see a lot of lamb cuteness typically in late September / early October.

The Chooks

Dewey and Louie

The Chooks

Chicken feeding

A fun mix of Isa Browns, Cornish, Vorwerks and a Legbar. They give us delicious eggs which can be part of your breakfast if you stay in one of our accomodations. Of course they all have names so they don't end up in a soup one day.

The Chooks

There is an abundance of birdlife and these Willie Wagtail babies by now fly around with their many friends including King Parrots, Rosellas, Darters, Wrens, Magpies, Wedge Tail Eagles, Finches, Swallows, Red-rumped Parrots, Galahs, Black  Cockatoos, Corellas and and and...

About our Award winning Wines

Our philosophy is to create easy drinking wines that are inspired by our European heritage and are rooted in what the Mudgee terroir provides us. We are guided by sustainable and organic principles, including sheep and donkeys roaming the blocks during the dormant season.

The original vineyard was established in 1983 when a 2-acre block of Cabernet Sauvignon was planted. These vines are still the heart of today’s HILLSIDE Vineyard, with Shiraz added in 2021 and a new block with Riesling, Pinot Gris and Sangiovese established by us in 2022. It is situated at 650m altitude in the ranges on the Western side of Mudgee and we have been working through a multi-year rejuvenation process for the established vines with the objective of producing the highest quality of premium grapes. So far we managed to secure a couple of Bronze medals, stay tuned for future releases...

We also produce wines from grapes that we directly source from premium quality vineyards in the Mudgee region. This allows us to add varieties based on feedback from our customers and based on the best quality we can source in any given year. We started with Sangiovese for Rosé (Bronze 2023, Gold 2024) and a beautiful Vermentino (Bronze 2024, Gold 2025). We then added Riesling (Bronze 2025, Silver 2026) and Pinot Grigio (Bronze 2026) to our portfolio and in 2025 we harvested our first Tempranillo which won us a Silver medal at the 2026 Mudgee Show just a couple of months after bottling it.

Now, while the medals are fantastic recognitions, the most valuable feedback comes from our growing customer base, including our steadily growing GG Club. Seeing the positive reactions first hand at markets, events and at our farm door; or even better, overhearing some nice comments in one of the local restaurants who stock our wines is the biggest reward we can get. We look forward to further refine what we are doing and provide you with more GG goodness in the years to come.

About our Award winning Olive Oils

Our Extra Virgin Olive Oils are first cold pressed, nothing added, no second pressing or additional flavours. We typically harvest over two days in early May when a large part of the fruit is ripe and changed its colour to black or a dark violet and green marble, depending on variety. This produces medium robust to robust oils that are full of natural flavours and packed with healthy polyphenols. Just what you need for all your dressings, drizzling or cooking needs.

We take the fruit to one of the local presses as soon as a trailer load is ready and it ends up in the press within 2-8 hours from getting off the trees to ensure maximum freshness and best quality. We pick up the oil the next day and transfers it into our steel tanks in a temperature controlled storage room. All further production steps happen here: racking, filtration (or not), bottling, labelling and tastings for our farm door visitors and accommodation guests.

Depending on the yield in our 6 different blocks we typically create two different oils that are defined by the unique taste profiles of the varieties we keep together. During our 2025 harvest, we combined the fruit from Block 1 and 2 for a Correggiola / Frantoio blend and the remaining blocks for our CMV (Correggiola, Manzanillo, Verdale) blend. These were our first oils that we entered into the 2025 Sydney Royal Fine Food Show and we are very proud of the resulting Silver and Bronze medals awarded by the most prestigious national show in Australia.

About us

Hello from us, Anna & Norbert Krebs, current custodians of this terrific country escape in the Mid-Western Region of NSW. Here is a bit of what we are about and we hope to welcome you out here one day in person!

In 2021 - after many years of corporate life in various places of the planet and becoming empty nesters - we jumped in at the deep end to realise our dream of running our own family business. Luckily we found this stunning 100 acre property with a large portion of established crop which we re-named "Grattai Grove" to honour the locality we live on. Of course we had to put our own mark on it by adding more plants and animals and creating the accommodations as we love hosting and sharing the place.

We were propelled into the steepest learning curve of our lives: becoming vignerons, tending to the olive trees and their fruit, caring for the animals, fixing machinery and farm infrastructure, shaping and promoting our farm-stays and eventually releasing our first wines and extra virgin olive oils in November 2023.

An important milestone of our vision was to plant several half-acre blocks of vines from scratch to offer a wider range of hand-picked small-batch wines going forward. To complement the estate grown varieties, we also source limited quantities of grapes from trusted growers in the Mudgee region. We invite you to join us on our journey as we grow our range of produce from our little slice of paradise.
